This Privacy Policy explains how SellerSmart Ltd collects, uses, and protects your personal data when you use the SellerSmart ungating tool (the "Tool"). It applies alongside our Terms of Service. We are the data controller for the personal data described here. Please read this policy so you understand what we do with your information and the rights you have.
The short version
- We collect the details you give us, your payment information, and data from the Amazon account you connect, so we can run the Tool for you.
- We use trusted providers to take payments and operate our software, and we never sell your personal data.
- You can access, correct, or delete your data, or complain to the ICO, at any time.
Who we are
We are SellerSmart Ltd, company number 15870357, registered at Unit 5B Kent House, Old Bexley Business Park, Bexley, Kent DA5 1LR ("SellerSmart", "we", "us"). We are the controller responsible for your personal data in connection with the Tool. You can reach us about this policy at [email protected].
The data we collect
We collect the following categories of personal data:
- Account and contact details, such as your name, email address, and the details you provide when you buy or use the Tool.
- Payment information, processed by our payment provider. We do not store your full card details.
- Amazon account data accessed through the connection you authorise, including your seller account identifiers and the brand, restriction, and ungating status information needed to run the Tool.
- Technical and usage data, such as your IP address, device and browser information, and how you interact with our website and the Tool.
How and why we use your data
We use your data to provide and operate the Tool, to take payment and keep financial records, to provide support, to keep the service secure and prevent fraud, and, where you have agreed, to send you marketing about our products. Our lawful bases under UK GDPR are: performance of our contract with you (to provide the Tool and process payment), our legitimate interests (to secure, maintain, and improve the service and prevent misuse), legal obligation (to keep tax and accounting records), and consent (for optional marketing, which you can withdraw at any time).
The Amazon account connection
To run the Tool you authorise it to connect to your Amazon account. We access your account data only to provide the Tool's functionality, as described in our Terms of Use. We do not use this access to read, change, or share anything beyond what is needed to run the service, and you can withdraw the connection at any time through your Amazon settings or by contacting us.
Who we share it with
We share data only where necessary, with: our payment provider (such as Stripe) to process payments; the hosting and software providers that run our website and the Tool; Amazon, when we connect to your account at your direction; and professional advisers or authorities where we are required to by law. We do not sell your personal data. Some of these providers may process data outside the UK; where that happens, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as UK adequacy regulations or the UK International Data Transfer Agreement.
How long we keep it
We keep your personal data while you have an account or subscription with us and for a reasonable period afterwards. Where we are required to keep certain records for legal, tax, or accounting reasons, we retain those for as long as the law requires (financial records, for example, are generally kept for six years). When data is no longer needed, we delete or anonymise it.
How we protect it
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data against unauthorised access, loss, or misuse. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so while we work to protect your information we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to access your personal data, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict or object to how we use it, to data portability, and to withdraw consent where we rely on it. To exercise any of these rights, email us at [email protected].
You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk. We would appreciate the chance to address your concerns first, so please consider contacting us before you do.
Cookies
Our website uses cookies and similar technologies to make the site work, remember your preferences, and understand how it is used. You can manage or disable cookies through your browser settings, though some features may not work properly if you do.
Children, changes, and contact
The Tool is intended for business users aged 18 or over. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data. We may update this policy from time to time, with the current version always posted here and the "last updated" date revised; we will tell you about material changes where appropriate. Any questions about this policy or your data can be sent to [email protected].
